ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson found out the hard way that American TV reporters are not to be messed with. McPherson, addressed a room full of journalists yesterday at the TCA press tour, only to reveal that there would be no big announcements about Lost. Ggrr – these TV bosses, why don’t they help feed our hunger for plot spoilers? Don’t they know that we would much rather hear what’s to feature in our favourite programmes months in advance from some stuffy suit than enjoy any sense of wonder or surprise at actually watching the events unfold? Bah.
Entertainment Weekly reports that when the crowd turned nasty, McPherson began to panic. A publicist had a quiet whisper in his ear, (later revealed to be confirmation from the show’s producers that he could sate the crowd’s appetite for news with one juicy morsel) and then he was out with it: Harold Perrineau as Michael Dawson will be returning to the show for its 4th season. This wasn’t elaborated on, but further information is expected to be discussed at today’s Comic-Con. Will Walt return? Will the other survivors find out that he killed Libby and Ana-Lucia and set Other baddie Ben free? Will he be in the future (as per Jack and Kate at the end of season 3) or will he be in the present? Ooh, so many questions. Let’s hope they spill more gos to those geeks, sorry, enthusiasts at Comic-Con today.
